August 7, 2003Intelligence Software Firm Vincera Adds to Series A Round
Vincera Software, a provider of consumer intelligence technology, said it has raised an undisclosed amount of additional Series A funding. All existing investors -- Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Triton Ventures, Origin Partners, Starter Fluid, and Access Ventures Partners provided the new capital. Vincera closed $6.75 million in initial Series A funding in June 2001. Vincera chairman and CEO David R. Malmstedt said the company will dedicate the new capital to the expansion of its sales channels and marketing and for the launch of its new product User Activity Intelligence Solution, which is currently in beta phase. The product, which will be generally available around September 1, enables companies to extract intelligence from their Web channels and apply it to other channels within the organization.
 
July 24, 2003Green Mountain, Shell, TXU, Other Firms Team Up on Wind-Power Project in West Texas
A group of energy companies announced plans Wednesday to team up on Texas' first wind power project in almost two years, marking milestones for several firms expanding their renewable energy portfolios. For Austin-based Green Mountain Energy Co., the state's largest marketer of renewable energy, the wind power project is a first. And it's the biggest project to date for Shell WindEnergy Inc., a unit of the world's No. 2 oil company, which is expanding its position in the wind power industry.
