April 10, 2003Green Mountain Energy Company Announces Wind Purchase Agreement
Green Mountain Energy Company, a retail provider of cleaner electricity, announced today that it has purchased virtually all of the environmental attributes associated with the wind output from PG&E National Energy Group's Madison Windpower facility near Hamilton in Madison County, NY. The wind generation from the facility will be used to help meet the demand for customers purchasing Green Mountain Energy electricity through the Niagara Mohawk Renewable Energy Program. Under terms of the agreement, Green Mountain Energy Company purchased virtually all of the environmental attributes associated with the wind output from the Madison Windpower facility through 2004. The seven wind turbines, located on farmland east of Syracuse, have a capacity of 11.5 megawatts and will generate 100 percent pollution-free wind output to meet the demand of Green Mountain Energy(R) electricity customers.

March 19, 2003Hart InterCivic Signs Douglas County, Colorado, Clerk's Office
Douglas County, Colo., is adopting Hart InterCivic's Universal eRecording Counter for electronic recording of official public records. Douglas County currently uses Hart InterCivic's Anthem to create electronic images of official public records, including land titles and related records, as well as managing the indexing, archiving and retrieval of these crucial records. Hart's Universal eRecording Counter works with Anthem to enable the receipt and automated processing of electronic documents through the recording system.
 
March 17, 2003Applied Science Fiction gains $5M in funding as it makes foray into selling photo kiosks
There's a major new development at Austin-based Applied Science Fiction Inc. The photo software and hardware company, formed in 1995 as a spinoff of IBM Corp., originally was trying to develop a way to process film without using chemicals. It planned to license the technology to companies such as Eastman Kodak Co. or Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd., which would incorporate the technology into their photo kiosks. Now, Applied Science Fiction has decided to go a step further, cutting out the middleman by selling its own kiosks directly to customers — and forcing it to compete against companies such as Kodak and even San Marcos-based Pixel Magic Inc.
